Weekend Woodshed #6 - Patch Mahoney

32nd Note Linear Fill

Here's the first of many lessons Ill be putting together for the Weekend Woodshed

In this video, I break down a really fun 32nd note chop! It's only one measure long, but it can be repeated as many times as you like and can be orchestrated in any way around the kit!

The trickiest part in this chop is the phrase in the middle with the hi-hat barks (this is repeated twice), where the sticking is KKFF(H/K).

I'd recommend practicing this phrase on its own, then practicing the whole chop at a slow tempo. Most importantly with this one, have fun!
